METHOD OF BURIAL OF A TANK IN THE PRESENCE OF AQUIFERS

  • Check the maximum level that can be reached by the aquifer at different times of the year, to identify the maximum hydrostatic thrust.
  • Before proceeding with the excavation, prepare adequate drainage systems to allow the lowering of the groundwater level, thus making it possible to carry out the excavation.
  • Evaluate, compatible with the type of soil and the level of groundwater, the mode of excavation and the inclination of the slope to avoid landslides.
  • Carry out a concrete support slab and anchor it over the tank using ropes or tie rods, slab dimensions and tie rods to be calculated based on the hydrostatic thrust (Step 1).
  • Then proceed with the laying and backfilling operations as described in the previous burial modes (Burial mode in the absence of aquifer) (Steps 2-3).
  • If the surface is accessible to heavy vehicles, it is necessary to evaluate with a professional the creation of a slab suitable for the dissipation of loads before creating the final flooring (Step 4). The heatsink slab must have a plan surface greater than that of the tank to achieve the purpose.

In the presence of aquifers, it is advisable to evaluate the insertion of appropriate pipes and flexible joints on the hydraulic connections in order to reduce as much as possible the risk of any breakage.

STEP 1

Execution of the forced section excavation and construction of the foundation slab and anchoring of the tank.

STEP 2

  • Subsequent filling with fine sand or silt.
  • Then proceed with the filling of the tank.

STEP 3

  • Further filling with fine sand or silt.
  • Assembly of metal extensions where present, appropriately sealed

STEP 4

Completion of the burying
