Ambiente Servizi S.p.A. has built a new energy-efficient headquarters (Class A) and a distribution facility for biomethane produced from waste processing—an innovative circular economy project. As part of this initiative, a fire suppression system was installed to protect the entire complex and ensure regulatory compliance and ease of management.

Client requirements

The client’s goal was to equip the complex—which includes operational facilities and the biomethane plant—with an integrated fire protection system that:
  • would ensure effective protection of the entire site;
  • complies with applicable regulations and safety requirements for energy systems;
  • it were compact and easy to install to minimize on-site work;
  • provide reliable control and ease of operation and maintenance.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Following a technical site inspection and an analysis of the geological reports provided by the designer, Idroelettrica proposed the FIREBLOCK system: a compact module with a technical room and an integrated 50 m³ water reservoir. Key features of the solution:
  • prefabricated FIREBLOCK module with an integrated water reservoir (50 m³) to ensure operational autonomy and continuity;
  • gas-powered and electric pumps controlled via electrical panels equipped with the latest-generation EPRO electronic control unit for monitoring, diagnostics, and alarm management;
  • design and installation intended to minimize civil engineering work on site and to facilitate plumbing and electrical connections;
  • Construction in compliance with applicable technical standards, with a focus on safety requirements specific to energy and biomethane facilities.

The Result

The customer was satisfied with the FIREBLOCK solution: the system made it easy to integrate fire safety measures, ensuring operational efficiency, ease of use, and regulatory compliance. The prefabricated approach also facilitated installation and reduced construction time, contributing to the overall success of the circular economy project.
