Case Study
The Mirusina’s Aja

During the restoration of the historic residence L’aja della Mirusina, it became clear that the existing fire protection system needed to be updated and made monitorable. The project called for modern technical solutions, integration with the existing system, and the ability for the owners to monitor the system remotely, without altering the historic structure.

Client requirements

The customer requested:
  • upgrading the pumping station to comply with current regulations;
  • integration of technologically advanced control panels for remote control and monitoring;
  • maintenance and enhancement of the existing water supply;
  • continuous supply to the internal network (vertical risers and UNI25 NASPI fittings on both floors);
  • Independence from the municipal water supply and ease of maintenance.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Idroelettrica worked on the existing system, proposing a solution that prioritized restoration and modernization:
  • maintenance of the existing water storage system consisting of underground concrete tanks;
  • integration of the EPRO ELECTRIC electronic control panels (control and operation of pump units) and EPRO CONTROL (remote monitoring and control) into the existing pumping station;
  • connection to the distribution network, which runs along the ground floor with vertical branches leading to the NASPI UNI25 units located on the two upper floors;
  • design and sizing based on best engineering practices to ensure reliability, safety, and independence from the drinking water supply system;
  • measures aimed at minimizing construction work and its impact on the monument, giving priority to the reuse of existing structures.

The result

Thanks to our collaboration with our trusted technician and the reuse of existing components, we were able to achieve the following:
  • a fire suppression system that is up-to-date and compliant with regulations;
  • Comprehensive remote monitoring via EPRO CONTROL and local management via EPRO ELECTRIC;
  • cost savings achieved through the reuse of water and minimal on-site work;
  • Greater safety for the historic residence while ensuring uninterrupted service for the internal fire hydrant system.
