Flavourart, founded in 2006 and a world leader in the production of food flavors and e-cigarette liquids, required a fire protection solution that would meet the highest technical standards without compromising the building’s aesthetics or the integration of its systems. The company boasts advanced research, sophisticated production processes, and an international presence; therefore, its fire protection system had to be efficient, safe, and seamlessly integrated.

Client requirements

The customer needed a fire suppression system that:
  • complied with current rules (UNI EN 12845 and related rules);
  • it would blend harmoniously with the building’s graphic and architectural design;
  • ensure full accessibility for maintenance in complete safety;
  • protect workers’ health and the structural integrity of the building;
  • if it were customizable in terms of both functionality and aesthetics.

Idroelettrica's proposal

To meet Flavourart’s requirements, Idroelettrica designed and built a compact solution with an integrated utility room and water reservoir called FIREBLOCK, based on the FIREBOX module. Key features of the solution:
  • Compact system with a prefabricated pump room (FIREBOX) and an integrated water reservoir (FIREBLOCK).
  • Custom-made with colors and finishes specified by the customer for seamless aesthetic integration.
  • Side panels that open fully for complete access to components, facilitating routine and non-routine maintenance.
  • Module designed to ensure the flow rates and pressures specified in the design; components sized specifically for this application.
  • Manufacturing and certification in accordance with company specifications, with structural design based on UNI 1090.
  • Integrated EPRO advanced electronic control unit for control, diagnostics, and alarm signal transmission, compliant with the functional requirements of UNI EN 12845.

The Result

The FIREBLOCK solution has enabled Flavourart to implement a reliable, high-performance fire suppression system that is perfectly in line with the company’s design. Concrete results:

  • Full accessibility and easy maintenance thanks to the hinged walls;
  • Advanced control and alarm management with the EPRO control unit;
  • product manufactured in-house in accordance with construction standard UNI 1090;
