As part of a major plant renovation project, Rechim S.r.l. requested the installation of a new fire protection system capable of combining innovation and safety, while ensuring full regulatory compliance. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening its respect for the environment and protecting the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
Client requirements
The customer needed a fire protection solution that:
complies with applicable regulations and ensures reliable performance;
could be incorporated into the plant renovation project;
ensure service continuity and redundancy, with diverse power supplies;
was built to high construction standards and was easy to maintain.
Idroelettrica's proposal
To meet client requirements, Idroelettrica proposed a prefabricated outdoor system based on FIREBOX, with a pressurization unit designed for under-sill installation. Configuration of the main components:
FIREBOX containment module (enclosure for the outdoor fire suppression system);
1 main diesel pump;
2 main standard single-impeller end-suction centrifugal electric pumps, horizontal-shaft, Back Pull Out type;
1 pilot (jockey) electric pump for pressure maintenance;
A solution designed to provide redundancy and business continuity, with the accessibility and systematic layout typical of a prefabricated module.
The Result
The Idroelettrica solution provided Rechim S.r.l. with a reliable system, manufactured in-house in accordance with UNI EN 1090 and compliant with current fire safety regulations. The project met its objectives by combining high-quality construction, safety, and technical support, to the client’s full satisfaction.
