In the dairy industry, aging warehouses are a strategic asset: every day, the cheese wheels produced by dairies are transferred to these warehouses, where expert staff carefully monitor the various stages of the aging process. As part of a project to improve the aging warehouse serving the existing production facility, located in Torrile (Bezze), it became necessary to install a compliant and reliable fire suppression system.

Client requirements

The project aimed to:
  • make the aging warehouse safe in accordance with current regulations;
  • protect an area of high operational importance and critical to production continuity;
  • ensure an effective system for detecting critical conditions;
  • Simplify maintenance and periodic inspections thanks to an accessible utility room.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Following a site inspection by technical staff and a meeting with the designer and installer, Idroelettrica supplied a FIREBLOCK, a compact system with a technical room and an integrated water reservoir, designed to ensure direct access to the equipment and ease of maintenance. The pump unit includes:
  • electric pump;
  • motor pump;
  • jockey pump for pressure maintenance.
Idroelettrica’s technicians have brought the system online following a comprehensive test of the pumping station.

The Result

FIREBLOCK has fully satisfied the end customer because it complies with current regulations and is particularly effective at detecting the onset of critical conditions. The solution, implemented according to the designer’s specifications, ensures maximum safety for the production site and the aging warehouse, with optimized accessibility for routine maintenance.
