Life S.p.A. has launched a fire safety project at its 24,800 m² production facility, which includes roasting and salting, rehydration, mixing, quality control, and packaging departments, as well as an in-house analysis laboratory. In addition to regulatory compliance, the client requested an aesthetic design that aligns with the brand’s identity, incorporating the company’s colors even in the fire safety room.
Client requirements
The goal was to install a fire suppression system that:
bring the entire building up to code in accordance with current rules;
ensure reliability and operational continuity for a production site divided into multiple departments;
offers ease of management and maintenance over time;
…while also meeting aesthetic and image requirements, with a custom finish for the utility room.
Idroelettrica's proposal
Idroelettrica has introduced FIREBOX, a prefabricated outdoor fire protection module, featuring custom technical solutions and finishes:
Frame made of steel profiles of adequate thickness.
Protection with intumescent paint to ensure 60 minutes of fire resistance (R60) in accordance with UNI EN 12845:2020, §10.3.1.
Custom painting according to the corporate colors requested by the customer (LIFE S.p.A. brand identity).
Pressurization system configured with 2 diesel motor pumps + 1 Jockey Pump for pressure maintenance and rapid response.
The design is aimed at keeping not only the initial investment low, but also operating and maintenance costs, thanks to carefully selected components and the module’s accessibility.

The FIREBOX solution has enabled Life S.p.A. to implement a compliant and reliable fire protection system that is seamlessly integrated with its production operations and corporate image. The client has benefited from:
compliance with EU and national regulations;
reduced operational complexity thanks to a prefabricated, accessible outdoor utility room;
a finish that is consistent with the brand’s aesthetic;
