Case Study: Pagani Automobili

Pagani Automobili is an Italian luxury supercar manufacturer based in San Cesario Sul Panaro (MO) founded by Horacio Pagani in 1998.

Requirement
The new plant of over 9,000 square metres had to be equipped with a highly reliable fire-fighting system to ensure the safety of the production department, the warehouse, the showroom and the Horacio Pagani Museum, guaranteeing a perfect integration between architecture and plant engineering.

Idroelettrica’s Proposal
Responding to the specific requests of the customer, Idroelettrica has designed and built a fire station that integrates perfectly into the available space, guaranteeing the performance requirements that emerged during the design phase. This is an innovative solution from the  FIREBOX series, a prefabricated fire-fighting module containing a fire-fighting pressurisation unit made in full compliance with UNI EN 12845 and UNI 11292 standards. To ensure the required needs, Idroelettrica’s technicians have chosen to use horizontal axis centrifugal pumps of the End Suction Back Pull Out type.
The technical compartment, placed on a special support structure near the water supply storage, is completely above ground, there is therefore no risk of flooding, and is accessible on all sides thanks to the openable walls, thus making the activities required by law, as well as extraordinary maintenance operations, extremely simple and rapid.
The module has a FIRE RESISTANCE of 60 minutes (R60) and consists of a structure in steel profiles and buffer panels with internal insulation in rock wool.
Each pump is controlled by a dedicated electrical panel, with an integrated EPRO electronic control unit

The Result
The adoption of an innovative solution such as the Firebox has made it possible to create a fire-fighting station fully compliant with EN12845 UNI11292 standards, guaranteeing the minimum footprint to reduce visual impact. The customer can therefore safely benefit from a fully accessible technical room for normal management activities.
