Case Study: Scuola Primaria Ciro Menotti Primary School

Requirement
The aim that the Municipal Administration intended to achieve was the installation of a pressurisation unit with storage tankserving the fire-fighting system of the Ciro Menotti primary school of Soliera (Modena), which did not have the pressure characteristics required by current fire-fighting legislation.

The Idroelettrica proposal
The Idroelettrica specialists proposed a FIREBRAKE suitable to the requests of the designer, delivering a fire module with 3 integrated accumulation tanks of 2,000 litres each, in full compliance with industry standards.
The entire structure has been designed taking into account the variable loads due to the accumulation of snow, the dynamic actions of the wind and the accidental ones due to any possible earthquakes in compliance with the binding regulations.

The Result
The solution proposed by Idroelettrica represented the best technical/economic solution. The FIREBRAKE system is a water supply system for outdoor fire-fighting systems that consists of two main elements:

- a FIREBOX module containing a fire pressurisation unit UNI EN 12845

- a water storage made with galvanised parallelepiped tanks for fire prevention use, placed in parallel and located inside the FIREBOX. The connection pipes between the unit and the tanks are developed completely internally in order to avoid problems with frost.
