Case Study: Custom Fire-Fighting System At Flavourart S.r.l.

Flavuorart was founded in 2006 for the production of food flavourings, and later also for the electronic cigarette market. Over the years, Flavourart has invested heavily in basic research, operational protocols, production flows and cutting-edge plants. The constant commitment to employ its talents in research, experimentation, quality and safety of use have led the company to be recognised as a world leader specialising in liquids and flavours for electronic cigarettes. Five flagship stores worldwide and customers in 30 countries make this company a true Italian excellence.

REQUIREMENT
The customer needed to install a fire-fighting system that, in addition to complying with the requirements of current regulations, could integrate harmoniously with the building and the graphic design of the entire building. One of the priorities expressed by the customer was that the machine ensured the accessibility of the operators in full safety for maintenance, as well as safeguarding the health of the workers and the integrity of the building.

IDROELETTRICA’S PROPOSAL
To meet these important needs, Idroelettrica, in collaboration with the design studio, proposed to use a compact system with technical room and integrated water supply storage. This system called FIREBLOCK is an effective and reliable active fire protection system. In this specific case, the system was made with a special colour indicated by the customer so that it was perfectly integrated with the company’s plant layout. The prefabricated pump room (FIREBOX) has the characteristic of having all the side walls fully openable, therefore, accessibility is guaranteed from all sides to the components housed in it, both during operation and maintenance. This application required a customised solution to ensure the correct flow rates and operating pressures, which are required by the project in case of need.

THE RESULT
The solution proposed by Idroelettrica has guaranteed Flavourart to have a reliable product, completely produced in-house according to the UNI1090 standard and equipped with an innovative control system based on the new EPRO electronic control unit, a device of high technological standard that guarantees compliance with all the functions provided by UNI EN 12845 as well as the transmission of the alarm signals.
Also in this case, the technology of the system, the professionalism and experience of the Idroelettrica team, has ensured that the final goal has been achieved: customer satisfaction.

Thanks to the department, which deals with customised systems at Idroelettrica S.p.A., this application was also designed and built working side by side with the customer; the result achieved represents, as always, the optimal balance between technical needs and commercial possibilities.
