Flon Gaskets S.r.l.

In the project to launch a new operation in Sovere, promoted by parent company Fluorseals, Flon Gaskets developed a production process related to the manufacturing of PTFE semi-finished products and industrial gaskets, with hot processing of plastic materials. In a production environment with potential rapid fire propagation, fire protection represents a central requirement for safety, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance.

Client requirements

The client required a fire protection system that:
  • effectively protected a production area with “hot” processing of plastic materials;
  • was suitable for a high-risk profile, typical of raw materials with rapid propagation;
  • guaranteed water autonomy and stable performance;
  • reduced construction time and costs through a pre-assembled, ready-to-install solution;
  • was simple to manage and maintain over time, in full compliance with current regulations.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Considering the risk profile and system requirements, Idroelettrica proposed a FIREBLOCK system:
  • prefabricated FIREBLOCK module with fully pre-assembled fire protection pressurization unit;
  • direct connection to a 72 m³ water reserve;
  • solution designed to minimize on-site activities and simplify integration with the site’s system;
  • configuration sized to guarantee the performance required by the project and ensure long-term reliability.

The Result

The FIREBLOCK enabled Flon Gaskets to obtain a complete, turnkey fire protection solution, avoiding additional costs for labor and materials related to further hydraulic connections. The system, compliant with current regulations, proved to be:
  • quick to install;
  • simple to maintain;
  • ideal for a production facility with high propagation risk, ensuring safety and operational continuity.
