Pagani Automobili, the historic Italian luxury supercar manufacturer based in San Cesario sul Panaro (MO), requested a customized fire protection solution for the new facility of over 9,000 m². The project had to combine regulatory requirements, architectural integration, and maximum safety for production, warehouse, showroom, and the Horacio Pagani Museum.
Client requirements
The new facility required a highly reliable fire protection system perfectly integrated into the existing architecture. The main requirements were: comprehensive protection of sensitive areas, compliance with current technical standards, easy accessibility for inspections and maintenance, and minimal aesthetic impact on the production site.
Idroelettrica's proposal
Idroelettrica designed and built a prefabricated fire protection station from the
FIREBOX series, designed to meet client specifications and UNI EN 12845 and UNI 11292 standards. Key elements of the solution:
- Prefabricated fire protection module with pressurization unit compliant with current standards.
- Horizontal axis centrifugal pumps of the End Suction Back Pull Out type, sized for the required capacity.
- Technical room positioned on a support structure near the water reserve, completely above ground to eliminate the risk of flooding.
- Opening walls on all sides for easy access and extraordinary maintenance.
- Structure made of steel profiles and infill panels with internal rock wool insulation; fire resistance R60 (60 minutes).
- Dedicated electrical panels for each pump with integrated EPRO electronic control unit for control, diagnostics, and management.
The Result
The FIREBOX solution provided Pagani Automobili with a fire protection station compliant with UNI EN 12845 and UNI 11292, with reduced footprint and minimal visual impact. The technical room is fully accessible, facilitating normal management and maintenance activities, and ensures high levels of protection for personnel, systems, and company assets.
