Case Study
Rossetto Group Logistics Hub

The Rossetto Group has built a new distribution center in San Giorgio di Bigarello (MN): a 70,000 m² logistics hub on a 200,000 m² site, featuring warehouses for ambient- and controlled-temperature storage, cold storage rooms, automated silos, and support offices. The complexity and value of the stored goods required a fire suppression system featuring sprinklers and fire hydrants powered by a high-performance, highly reliable pump station.

Client requirements

The project had to meet strict requirements:
  • reliable water supply for sprinkler systems and hydrant networks covering a large area;
  • high hydraulic performance and long-term reliability;
  • integration with the architectural and mechanical/electrical design of the logistics hub;
  • ease of access and maintenance to reduce downtime and operating costs;
  • compliance with industry technical standards.

Idroelettrica's proposal

In collaboration with the design firm, Idroelettrica SpA proposed the FIREBOX modular solution, a pre-assembled, complete, and self-contained fire suppression system. Key features:
  • This product complies with the UNI 11292 standard, and its pump units are manufactured in accordance with UNI EN 12845.
  • Pre-assembled module, ready for installation and sized to ensure the design performance required for sprinklers and fire hydrants.
  • Walls that open completely for full accessibility: quick and safe routine and major maintenance.
  • Dedicated electrical panels with an EPRO electronic control unit for remote control, diagnostics, and management of the pumps.
  • Selection of rugged industrial components and plant engineering solutions designed for durability and continuous operation in high-intensity logistics environments.

The Result

The implementation of the FIREBOX system has provided the Rossetto Group with an efficient, code-compliant, and easily maintainable fire protection pumping station. The project met the required performance standards, reducing maintenance downtime and enhancing the overall safety of the logistics hub. Idroelettrica has once again proven itself to be a technical partner capable of providing competitive and reliable solutions for large-scale logistics infrastructure.
