Following the expansion of its production facility, Siviplast required a fire protection water supply system suited to its new safety client requirements. In coordination with the design firm, the solution had to ensure reliable performance, regulatory compliance, and quick installation, while minimizing on-site work.
Client requirements
The client needed:
adapt the fire protection system to the new size of the production site;
comply with the applicable design standards (UNI EN 12845 and UNI 11292, in addition to the standards applicable to the network);
to have a pre-assembled, reliable, and easy-to-maintain solution;
reduce installation time and complexity, minimizing disruption to production activities.
Idroelettrica's proposal
Following an on-site inspection and in collaboration with the client’s design firm, Idroelettrica proposed a FIREBOX Integrated Fire Protection Module, compliant with UNI EN 12845 and UNI 10779, with the following features:
a system that is fully assembled, both electrically and hydraulically;
a pressurization unit in a sub-atmospheric configuration, for maximum continuity and to minimize inlet/priming issues;
prefabricated outdoor module, designed to simplify installation and subsequent maintenance;
Testing performed prior to delivery to ensure the unit is ready for startup.
The Result
The choice fell on a prefabricated FIREBOX for outdoor use, manufactured and tested in-house at the Idroelettrica plant in accordance with the major industry rules. Installation required minimal effort: all that was needed was to position the module, secure the pump sets using the provided mounting points, and complete the hydraulic and electrical connections. The customer now has a solution:
compliant and ready for operation;
quick to install;
versatile and, if necessary, transportable to another location.
