As part of the Grezzago G1 (East Milan) platform development project, STM Pharma Pro has built a 14,000 m² warehouse dedicated to the storage of pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter medications, cosmetics, and health and beauty care products. The site is equipped with continuous computerized temperature monitoring (+15° / +25°C) and a next-generation monitoring system. The storage area has a capacity of approximately 16,500 pallet spaces: a highly operational logistics environment where fire protection is a strategic requirement for safety and service continuity.

Client requirements

The customer needed a fire protection system capable of:
  • to secure a large logistics warehouse with high storage density;
  • address a significant risk profile associated with materials and packaging that could cause a fire to spread rapidly;
  • ensure reliability, water self-sufficiency, and consistent performance;
  • integrate with a technologically advanced site, minimizing installation time on-site.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Given the sector’s risk profile and the project’s client requirements, Idroelettrica proposed a FIREBLOCK system:
  • prefabricated FIREBLOCK module with fully pre-assembled fire protection pressurization unit;
  • direct connection to a 72 m³ water reserve;
  • a solution designed for quick installation, long-term reliability, and simplified maintenance;
  • A configuration designed to meet the performance requirements of the fire protection plan for the Grezzago G1 site.

The Result

This project was of great value to Idroelettrica, which drew on its experience and expertise in fire prevention to develop a solution tailored to a complex and highly critical storage facility. The client received a reliable, comprehensive fire protection system that aligns with the platform’s client requirements and fully meets the required safety standards.
