Idroelettrica buried fire‑water reservoir: monobloc tanks for underground installation, pressure‑tested and protected with epoxy coatings; available in pedestrian or vehicular (drive‑over) versions and engineered with static and dynamic structural verifications.
Underground firefighting water reserves are the ideal solution for storing water for fire protection systems while optimizing outdoor space and protecting the tank from weathering. Idroelettrica S.p.A. manufactures monobloc steel tanks for underground installation, fabricated under controlled procedures by qualified personnel. Welds are executed in accordance with UNI EN 287/1 qualification using IT‑SG3 welding wire to achieve high‑strength joints (up to 600 N/mm²). Each tank is pressure‑tested to 1.5 bar and protected with dedicated anti‑corrosion treatments: two‑component epoxy external coating and grey two‑component epoxy internal coating (for non‑potable use). The combination of design, internal reinforcements, and surface protections results in a robust underground tank suitable for various installation conditions.
Upon request, underground water reserves can also be designed for installations with groundwater and can be produced in vehicular versions (light or heavy traffic), in addition to the standard pedestrian-rated configuration.
Technical note: all reserves equipped with automatic make-up (solenoid/mechanical valves) and supplied by water mains/wells must include an overflow discharge line to allow visual confirmation of correct operation. Immediate access to the overflow allows for fault detection, prevents water waste, and reduces costs.
