IPSIA Fermo Corni Modena

As part of the seismic retrofitting and safety improvement work at the IPSIA Fermo Corni school, it became clear that a modern, code-compliant fire protection system was needed to safeguard students, teachers, and staff. The project required a technical solution that was not only effective but also compatible with the available space and the surrounding environment—an aspect successfully addressed thanks to Idroelettrica’s operational expertise.

Client requirements

The goal was:
  • install a reliable fire protection system to protect the entire institution;
  • ensure compliance with current fire safety regulations;
  • locate the pumping station in an area with space or location constraints, minimizing impacts and complexity;
  • Provide a water supply sufficient to meet the required performance standards, consistent with the school site.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Idroelettrica’s proposal for a FIREBOX equipped with VTP pumps, installed on a dedicated water reservoir:
  • FIREBOX containing a pressurization unit compliant with UNI EN 12845 and UNI 11292;
  • additional components required by UNI EN 12845, supplied already connected and operational;
  • Installation on a 30 m³ underground steel tank, a choice necessitated by the school’s location and installation conditions;
  • A solution designed to ensure reliability, ease of management, and regulatory compliance.

The Result

The project presented a significant logistical challenge, which was managed with attention to detail and the expertise of the Idroelettrica team. The result is a fire suppression system that is seamlessly integrated into the school campus, compliant with regulations, and ready for operation—achieved by overcoming practical difficulties thanks to equipment and expertise gained through hands-on experience.
