Case Study
Transcoop COOP

The project involves the expansion of Transcoop Soc. Coop.’s multifunctional logistics warehouse in the Gavassa industrial zone: a new building adjacent to the existing one, with reorganized outdoor areas, for a total of approximately 25,000 m². The new warehouse, completed in January 2024, includes 9,682 m² for goods storage, 18 loading docks, and a 300 kWp photovoltaic system. In a logistics hub handling diverse goods and high operational volumes, the fire protection system had to ensure high performance and maximum reliability for both the sprinkler system and the fire hydrant network.

Client requirements

The customer requested a fire protection system capable of:
  • to ensure a safe and continuous water supply to the sprinkler system and fire hydrant network of the new complex;
  • comply with the main technical and regulatory standards (UNI EN 12845 and UNI 11292);
  • reduce construction time thanks to a prefabricated, ready-to-install solution;
  • ensure full accessibility for routine and non-routine maintenance;
  • to provide advanced control and diagnostics through control panels and a dedicated control unit.

Idroelettrica's proposal

Idroelettrica SpA, in close collaboration with the design firm, proposed the FIREBOX as the optimal solution: a modular, pre-assembled, complete, and self-contained fire suppression system that complies with UNI 11292 and features pump-sets that meet the requirements of UNI EN 12845.Key points of the solution:
  • prefabricated FIREBOX module, designed for quick installation on-site;
  • walls that open completely for full accessibility and faster maintenance;
  • components selected for their reliability and long-term durability;
  • The system is controlled by dedicated electrical panels equipped with an EPRO electronic control unit for control, diagnostics, and event/alarm management.

The Result

The custom-designed fire suppression system, built with high-quality components and in compliance with the highest technical and regulatory standards, has ensured performance consistent with the design requirements and a high level of safety for the logistics hub. The FIREBOX solution has also simplified maintenance activities thanks to full accessibility and EPRO control. Transcoop has obtained a reliable and competitive system, confirming Idroelettrica as its preferred technology partner.
