Vittoria Shipyard S.p.A.

Over time, Cantiere Navale Vittoria has strengthened its market position by obtaining major industry certifications, thanks to its focus on process quality, safety, and environmental sustainability. In this context, the company has launched a fire safety upgrade project to replace outdated technologies and ensure modern, compliant protection for the entire production facility.

Client requirements

The goal was to bring the building up to code in accordance with current regulations, ensuring:
  • compliance with technical fire safety requirements;
  • system reliability and continuity in a complex industrial environment;
  • protection extended to the entire facility and safeguarding of the people who work there every day;
  • A solution that is ready to install and easy to maintain.

Idroelettrica's proposal

In collaboration with the client’s design firm, Idroelettrica proposed an integrated FIREBLOCK fire protection module, compliant with UNI EN 12845 and UNI 10779, with the following characteristics:
  • a system that is fully assembled, both electrically and hydraulically;
  • a pressurization unit in a sub-atmospheric configuration, for maximum reliability and to minimize inlet/priming issues;
  • an integrated solution designed to simplify installation, periodic inspections, and routine maintenance;
  • Sizing and configuration determined in consultation with the designer and based on site requirements.

The Result

The installation of FIREBLOCK at the Adria (RO) facility replaced outdated fire protection systems, bringing the system up to an adequate level of protection that complies with rules. The construction site now has protection covering the entire building, which directly benefits the safety of the approximately 300 people who work there every day.
