Prefabricated fire‑protection unit – Firebox: a complete, autonomous outdoor module for fire water pump rooms, supplied with connected, tested and ready‑to‑operate components.
The Firebox prefabricated fire‑protection unit is an outdoor module by Idroelettrica S.p.A., designed to serve as the fire-fighting pump room and to house centrifugal pumps. Optional configurations are available for vertical turbine pumps (VTP) and for control systems of submersible pumps, depending on project requirements. The system is built in compliance with key reference standards (UNI EN 12845:2020, UNI 11292:2019, UNI EN 10779 and UNI EN 1090 – EXC2) and places particular emphasis on operational safety in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08. The unit is installed on a purpose‑built support structure provided by the client and delivered with all mandatory completion components connected, tested and fully operational to speed up installation and reduce start‑up issues.
Design prioritizes accessibility and maintenance, with removable panels, compliant working spaces and a service‑friendly component layout. In presence of at least one main pump powered by a diesel engine, ventilation via an axial fan and emergency power supply via a UPS with sufficient runtime (as required by regulations) are provided. Internal protection includes equipment such as sprinklers, a flow switch, and a test/drain circuit. The room is supplied in the standard RAL 7035 color.
